Camp Sardinal is centrally located high enough in the hill country to be cool and comfortable most of the time. An easy 61 mile drive from the San Jose Airport or a 72 mile drive from the Liberia Airport puts you smack dad in the middle of the area that is perfect for day trips to most every part of the northern and central parts of Costa Rica. Request a map and you will see just how centrally located camp sardinal is as well as driving miles to the major tourist attractions and day trips.
The lot where the cabin is located is part of a mother farm which is fully titled. The title for the individual lot is in process. The survey is also in process and has been measured. The structure is new construction built to be maintenance free and last for many years. The cabin or camp is basically a covered area by a metal roof painted with two coats of insulated paint to keep it cool on sunny days. It has a furnished Kitchen, hot water shower room, a bathroom, a bodega to secure all your furnishings while not in use and a large open area under a big roof where we put up a 10 foot by 10 foot straight wall tent which serves as the bedroom.
The floor of the tent has indoor/outdoor carpet and a full size bed. The beautiful and colorful Bohemian tribal striped sheet that is the ceiling above the tent is back lit with indirect lighting controlled from inside the tent by remote control. The rainfly for the tent is not used so a fine mesh ceiling makes the colorful sheet very comforting. Large windows on all sides open to fine mesh screens keeping bugs out and plenty of fresh air. Adding a bedroom would be easy and not expensive, should you want to convert the camp to a cabin.
The seller's relative owns the mother farm and lives on the farm. She and her husband are available for routine maintenance and security. It is a comfortable place to leave until your next visit. They can also manage an Air B&B operation should that be the direction you choose to go.
Simple and comfortable. Bug free, great bird watching with everything you need to enjoy the outdoors and peace of the countryside. I would say that if you do not like camping, this may not be the place for you but if you like the outdoors and fresh air, this is the place.
Camp Sardinal is a bird watcher's paradise. Photos are available where you will see 5 birds that were seen from the house in one afternoon from the elevated floor of the camp, without binoculars. The birds are not fed so these were natural occurrences.
It is only about 2 miles from Sardinal so there are groceries, hardware, bakery, salons, restaurants very close by.
This is entry level because of the price and simplicity of this property. Easy to maintain, comfortable and a great location. If you are new to Costa Rica and want to learn the ropes, this is an ideal location. It would be VERY easy to do an AirB&B at this location that you would not need to be present to manage. This would give you an introduction to 'business in Costa Rica' as well as life in Costa Rica with out a huge investment.
